If this gets covered over, the tight lycra-wearing idiots will use the lanes as their personal race track, endangering pedestrians who use the lanes every day. And I'd rather see the wildlife than a metal grate while having to dodge out of the way of shangs!

This has got to be one of the daftest of many daft ideas threatening our unique environment. The beautifully crafted Water Lanes hold deep historical and ecological significance and to unsettle and upset the local community like this is just barmy.

Even with a grid plate system in place, there still won't be enough room to accommodate and increase in pedestrian and cyclist activity.

Children hav been going to St Peter Port school for years with no problem. There can’t be many more students going in the future. Most will have cars or motorbikes. Why spoil such a beautiful and iconic land mark!

It would be the destruction of an entire ecosystem to cater for a small number of people who do have an alternative option. The wildlife and flora doesn’t

They need to stop changing these beautiful, tranquil areas, we don't need this for cyclists. We need places like these to enjoy, and allow our minds to breath. Thanks

Please leave the Water Lanes alone! They are a tranquil place to walk in an increasingly busy island.
