We should restore and update these properties rather than destroy them. We should encourage people to appreciate them for what they are.

Please don't allow this tear down! It happened to the late Richard Neutra, who is considered among the most important modernist architects, especially in Southern California. He brought the cantilevered technology to the U.S. and contributed heavily to the Mid Century Modern style (eg. Kaufmann House, Palm Springs). So many people currently do not know who he is or his work due to his structures being demolished before they could be preserved.

Wallace Neff's work is a true inspiration to many architects, designers as well as homeowners. His architectural style became and is still widely known as "California Style". It would be a shame to lose this piece of gem in our community that is truly rich in California culture and history. In many older countries, there is no such thing as a teardown; rather to renovate. It is vital we preserve the architectural integrity for many generations to see.

Please preserve the integrity and beauty of our 100+ year old city. Stop the tear downs of beautiful old homes for the sake of new homeowners' vanity and "status".

If this is a Wallace Neff home, all considerations should be given to preserving it as a very important part of the historical heritage of our area.

Wallace Neff was an exceptionally gifted architect whose built work should be prized and protected, just as his drawings are at the nearby Huntington Library.

This is extremely sad. Homes that were created by Wallace Neff are a work of art. The idea of demolishing a home like this is unconssciencable

We are losing so many of our mid-century houses. Even though they are relatively new, if we don't save them now there will be nothing left for future generations to appreciate. The idea of razing a Wallace Neff house is completely nonsensical to me.

The significance of this home is established in its design by Wallace Neff as part of the unique character and scale of this city, for which he designed at least 33 other structures. It is irreplaceable because this kind of craftsmanship no longer exists, and it exemplifies traditional design practices of natural light and air as well as graciously proportioned rooflines and landscaping. The ugly mansionization driven by developers is an invasion of a protected zoning that is specifically for families, not for profit. That was the intention of the founding Board of the City of San Marino.
