We urge the the City of Eureka, Missouri to reject the proposal to change Eureka’s zoning to allow an open pit mine to be constructed and operated in the area along the Meramec River flood plain that is and has been zoned for years to allow large home single family residences. We believe that an open pit mine and large sand and gravel dump trucks will create unnecessary traffic, safety and health hazards, and increased costs and taxes for Eureka residents; do not preserve and protect the residential community of Eureka and the Meramec River Greenway; and offer no benefits to Eureka, its homeowners, and neighbors.

Against the permit. Tired of living thru the long Times Beach disturbance and we are especially entitled to now live peacefully in our quiet neighborhood without constant new profit mining disturbance. This is a residential community that has already paid many years of community instability with dioxin and having to endure the states incineration within our air space.
RIDICULOUS idea. We moved here for the quiet and the river views. Nobody wants a mine in their backyard.
Keep the trucks off our local roads. Eureka is for families not for industrial mining sites.
Protect our property values and keep the zoning as is. Vote no on this project.
Stopping the Winter Brothers is an obtainable goal. Before anything can be done they have to rezone their property. The property is currently zoned R1 which means it's "Single Family Residential" and will require the planning & zoning committee to give it a favorable recommendation. Then it will have to be voted one by the board of aldermen. We simply need to remind our elected officials that they work for us.

Not only do they work for us but some of them will soon be up for re-election. If you don't want to listen to the people who vote you in, we'll just vote you out.
