we just got the word that the state is actually going to fund the pool repairs. i am honestly blown away that we made this happen for jellico and i cant thank you guys enough for sticking with this.

We, the citizens of Campbell County and surrounding areas, petition the state to allocate funds to repair and reopen the pool at Indian Mountain State Park
The town of Jellico is a small Appalachian town that has suffered great financial depression due to a lack of unemployment, poor physical health, and drug abuse. One of the great tourism draws of the town is Indian Mountain State Park. Unfortunately in 2013 TDEC closed the swimming pool. Opening up the pool at Indian Mountain State Park will greatly benefit the town both financially as additional campers that are drawn to the park will spend money at local business and will also offer a place for the people of the town to spend time with their families, teach children how to swim, celebrate special occasions, exercise to improve health, and fill the free time of the summer with a constructive and positive alternative.
I demand that the TN State Legislatures allocate funds to repair and reopen the swimming pool at Indian Mountain State Park.

The pool is the only thing some children look forward too ,not all children have money or transportation to go to the water park located in kentucky, lets keep our children here using our state park and pool. The pool was put in to be used not to be filled up and turned into a tennis court, the city of jellico has a tennis court for citizens and visitors to use.
I went to this pool as a child. Come on people this town had nothing for kids to do... Have someone to come in and do maintaince and up keep for a free pass for the season or something! We have a tennis court that no one hardly ever uses at least the pool is used by many every summer!
This will give all kids in the summer something to enjoy getting to do. Plus our campground is awesome being able to swim while camping will bring more campers to our area!!!
I think it would be a great idea because it would open up a couple of summer jobs for teens or adults. It would also a great way to save on gas then go to the waterpark!
I live in Jellico, TN and agree 100 percent that the swimming pool should be repaired and reopened. It was a great enjoyment to my sons when they were growing up and would greatly benefit the community and the campers coming to the state park.
We need our pool reopened
I grew up in Jellico an My Papaw worked at IMSP for Many Years seeing this pool closed breaks my heart . There wasn't many things in Jellico for the kids to do to stay occupied an now that the pool is closed it made matters worse. Please reopen the pool to give families an children of all ages something to do to stay off the streets an help them keep there minds on something other than drugs an reckless behavior.
