SAVE OUR SURGERY - UPDATED

I couldn't have dreamed of a better or quicker response to this campaign.

Having seen the support of all those who signed the petition, NHS Berkshire West CCG and Wokingham Medical Centre have been forced to re-prioritise GP provision on-site at Burma Hills Surgery in Norreys.

I expect every patient and staff member to receive a letter laying out a commitment to reinstate GP presence at Burma Hills Surgery as soon as its use as a vaccination centre is finished.

I think they expected no kick-back from a poorly communicated move of Burma Hills GP clinics to the Wokingham Medical Centre premises. Together we have had our voices heard and a very quick response has been given.

I will not consider this matter closed until GPs are regularly, physically located at Burma Hills in Ashridge Rd. Therefore, I will keep this petition open for communication of progress until that happens and if they drop their focus on getting this resolved, NHS Berkshire West CCG will be reminded sharply of their assurances and not allowed any more to treat their Norreys patients as a voiceless group to be ignored.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO KEEP THIS ISSUE ALIVE.

Original Petition

Once it is finished being a vaccine clinic Burma Hills Surgery is at risk of being closed, with patients transferred to the already over capacity Wokingham Medical Centre.

We, the undersigned, believe that the loss of this vital local amenity would be a travesty for our community and would deny local residents the quality health coverage that the NHS is meant to guarantee them.

We call on Wokingham Borough Council, on behalf of it’s residents to:

1) write to the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and lay out the case to keep Burma Hills open as a functioning medical centre.

2) work with Wokingham Medical Centre to find provision to keep the medical centre open.

3) write to the Minister for Health calling on Government to support keeping Burma Hills open.

4) write to Sir John Redwood MP for his support in keeping Burma Hills open.
