mr.fernandez is one of the best superintendents that gdoe ever had, he unlike the past superintendents took action into making our schools better not only for the children but for the teachers & staff by requesting for rebuilds for schools etc. He visits the schools and listens to the students agree and disagreements something gdoe should've done before they terminated me.fernandez's contract

Reinstate Superintendent Jon Fernandez, he has done a superb job as a superintendent since he had taken this job. Why fix something that's not broken. He is open to students, parents, and staff.

I graduated from Okkodo Class of 2016. Jon Fernandez's presence as our superintendent gave a lot of students hope. The sad truth is that a lot of times the people who work in education really don't care that much about us. People defend themselves when they're caught but if we're being honest there are so many injustices in the public school system. Students do not come first in so many cases. We have issues and no one cares. There are a lot of good people who work at schools but there also are a lot of people who work there that are in it for the money or degrade students or ignore us just because they're superior. It makes the school atmosphere negative and hurts the students' ability to focus on what's important. Jon Fernandez gave us hope and would always listen to our concerns. He never looked down on ANYONE that I or my peers have seen. He never pushed us to the side like we weren't important. He stood up for us and for DOE. He literally comes to school and asks us about our lives and about school. I just think that discontinuing his contract would be a massive disservice to our island. We've been through so many superintendents and it would be foolish to fire one that has done so much to HELP STUDENTS and actually cares about us. If you've heard him speak at leadership conferences or college fairs he's very inspirational and all the students respect him because he respects us. Don't take away from a reputable, hard working public servant OR from Guam's children just because of politics if that is the case. If it's not then please consider all the good he's done or tell the public what drove you to this terminal decision as we deserve to know.

I fully support having the superintendent back to his position. Too many hidden motives, the kids and staff/faculty have respect for this man and he cares for his workers and kids. He's the only superintendent that reaches out to hear the kids' voices and makes an effort to go out when the kids have a function. Have the previous superintendents been as active AND as fair as him? No. Stop being manipulative and selfish, do what your job states. THINK OF THE KIDS! If you feel that you can do a better job than by all means. But all I'm seeing is selfish, greedy, money hungry and jealous adults who are acting like adolescents. Basta de malana!
