Top Sportsman is for full bodied cars running between 5.80 and 8.49 (1/4 mile) regardless of engine combination. Superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous oxide, four cylinder, six cylinder or rotary – they’re all welcome here. Super Sedan becomes a bracket with a lower elapsed time cut-off of 8.50 and an upper cut-off of 10.999, with the long term plan being that from 2016/17 Super Street will be amalgamated into Super Sedan with an upper cut-off of 11.999.

These are the proposed rule changes to ANDRAs 2015 rule book - while some will say they make sense, many disagree with this decision. Now those who disagree are not only competitors, but also spectators and the dreamers, the people like me who wish to one day make it out there, who cannot build a $60,000 car, who do not want to start racing against competitors in these cars flying at me from behind at 30-60 mph faster than my car can travel.

It is my, our and hopefully your opinion, that these changes will significantly diminish the chance and availability for both entry level and budget racers.
