Don’t sacrifice squash, racketball and competitive sport in order to turn DL in to a generic gym; racket sports need a bit of support at the moment but they will outlive blaze! Rackets members have been core contributors to DL clubs.

Member for nearly 20 years and racquetball player. Not against Blaze, but there must be an alternative location within the building, that doesn't involve the complete loss of a facility.

Very disappointed that a racquets club is willing to replace a great racquet facility with yet another. Gym facility! How can that be fair to it's racquet members?

I have only been a member of DL for a few months now and joined especially for the squash courts! I understand the manager has called all the regular players to discuss their actions however As the 4th most using player in the club i still haven’t been contacted personally about the decision and they think it is acceptable to notify my partner instead (5th) in the club! With only 2 courts and multiple tennis courts i am not entirely sure why they don’t just sacrifice one of the tennis courts. I very rarely see them ALL being used simultaneously and would be a great space for either the blaze studios or to rebuild new squash courts in the tennis area.

Not against Blaze, think it will be a fantastic edition but.... please leave us with at least one squash court!

My family of four are Platinim members at David Lloyds in Derby and regularly use the squash courts. I have taken particular pleasure in teaching my son of 6 how to play. He is just getting to a standard where he will soon be able to play a proper game and is doing tremendously well. I am bitterly disappointed that the proposed court closure will stop his development in this sport, as well as end an enjoyable and precious activity between father and son.

Please don’t remove the squash courts. That’s the only reason I joined the club!

All in the name of consultation and coproduction ....DL is members club, hence engage and consult them in your decision making.

I very rarely see the squash courts without members utilising them and it will be a real shame to start this what looks like an amazing new class on such a negative action.
Why can’t the club sacrifice one of the many tennis courts?

I don’t play squash but feel for the Members who do- it may not be as ‘current’ as some of the new additions to the timetable but some people like it

Unhappy that major changes are being introduced without consultation.Paying a premium for rackets membership and to completely lose courts which provide both squash and racketball is poor.

I have been a member for around 13years and have played squash and racket ball all of this time
To close the courts is a irreversible decicion, please find a mother area to install blaze
