This centre shows how Children's Centres and other 'Early Help' services provide a range of support and services for families in a whole range of circumstances. They show how parents and children in any community can be brought together to interact, learn from, and support each other for the benefit of upcoming generations. The possibilities and flexibility of how the services can respond to local need and provide what is relevant to local families is limitless, and staff are often extremely motivated and creative in doing this. Many children and young people do better in life as a result of such services - which play a key role in terms of building the resilience of families for the future - thereby being a significant factor in preventing families needing the input from (more expensive) services when things do not go so well for them or their children.

Our child is 1 in a couple of weeks and attends the nursery there. The centre has been an integral part of our child's development. To shut the centre down would be a devastating blow to the community.

Please do not shut our children’s centre. This is not only a major part of my journey whilst becoming a new mum, but a huge part of my daughters development in the run up to her first birthday. Absolutely devastating at the thought of losing such a vital part of our community.

The support this centre gives young families is incredible. I started my journey as a mother there and found the advice and activities a godsend. My son eventually progressed over to nursery and only left as we moved. Luke made many friends whilst there and the staff always treated him as one of their own. Please do not close this centre it is much needed.

My son went here when we lived in the area and my 3 newphews currently go to the school and nursery. It's a great place for them

Removing or reducing the vital services that this children's centre and nursery provides will have a hugely detrimental effect on our local community. The centre and it's staff mean so much to so many, they support families and children through some of the toughest times in their lives including illness, abuse, loss of a family member, parenthood and unemployment to name just a few.
The nursery included in this children's centre provides outstanding care for our youngest children with amazing trustworthy staff who genuinely care about the wellbeing and development of our children.
The threat to after school and holiday club care that these proposals entail will mean a very real threat to many parents jobs and livelihoods having yet more damaging effects on our local community.
If you take these services away from us you take them away from the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community too. Saying they will be made available in Netherton or elsewhere is not upholding a sufficient service for OUR families and OUR community. It is not feasable for many of our families to travel that far for the support they so greatly need and already receive here at Springwell Park Children's centre and Nursery.
LEAVE OUR CHILDREN'S CENTRE AND NURSERY ALONE! We are busy creating a strong and caring future community through our children who treat one another with respect and show great care and support for one another with the skills they are learning from the parents and staff at this vital Children's Centre. This service is something that you as our elected coucil should be striving to pour your funding into to continue to build a community to be proud of for many years to come.
I for one am so proud to be a part of this Springwell Park family and am proud to watch my children (aged 7, 4 & 2) flourish with their support.
