Save our Sports Pavilion in Hazlemere

A crazy and ridiculous decision, what happened to ensuring our children have the ability to get outdoors away from the computer games and playing sport

it is a great asset to the community

The volunteers who run the Sports Pavilion should be praised for doing such a fine job for the community.

HSA is a huge asset to the community of Hazlemere. It is completely wrong for the Parish Council to attempt to charge a commercial rent for the use of the pavilion and break its agreement of 2010.

It's a pity 'The Truth' won't reveal their identity, but perhaps they've got something to hide? They clearly like to try and mislead people to further their own anti-HSA agenda. Everyone who has been invited to sign this petition were also invited to read the facts in the 'Your Questions Answered' section on the HSA website. In answer to some of the misleading points above: 1. Hazlemere Parish Council, as then constituted, agreed the £40,000 interest repayment to the Public Works Loan Board. It has been included in their annual precept since 2010. 2. The parish served a notice on HSA on 31.10.13 to terminate our present tenancy arrangement. The proposal for a new tenancy clearly states an annual rent of £40,500, so no, we're not 'wrong again'. 3. HSA were advised by their insurers not to give the alarm code out to the parish council. We have always allowed them access to the building as long as they give us 24 hours notice. 4. The hire charge to Hazlemere Pre-School was agreed with the parish council in 2010 and has remained unchanged ever since. HSA pay for all of the running costs of the pavilion, including the cost of cleaning and heating the pre-school area. 5. We tried to negotiate with the council in 2012 to no avail. The present Chairman has made no attempt to talk to us ever since he took office. 6. The pavilion doesn't compete with local pubs. 7. The comment about HSA engaging lawyers rather than talk to the council is a blatant lie. This anonymous author should check his facts. We had to appoint a firm of solicitors following legal correspondence instigated by the council through their solicitors, Reynolds Parry Jones. We are now having to deal with another expensive legal firm, appointed by the council at what expense to the Hazlemere taxpayer? Perhaps 'The Truth' would care to tell us?

To add to John's comments above, and various comments made by "the truth" the profits that our not-for-profit voluntary organisation makes are being held until our future liabilities are ascertained with regard to the cost of maintaining building. We currently are having to spend a significant amount on money on repairs relating to the heating system. Once we have more certainty then we will be putting any excess into the community for sporting recreational purposes - exactly what our Articles of Association state and our mission statement. Also please note that absolutely no money is being paid out to Directors of HSA Ltd or indeed the Trustees of HSA.

Perhaps the Truth would care to comment then on how the council spent months negotiating with Little Cherubs about converting part of the pavilion into a daycare nursery then in return for a commercial rent? 'Economical with the Truth' might be a more appropriate name for you. If you want to get to the Truth come to our AGM next week. We've got nothing to hide.

Time 'The Truth' revealed himself as he clearly thinks he's the authority on all HPC/HSA matters, even though it's obvious from his comments that he knows very little about HSA or the pavilion.

The Council were elected to serve the community and support the facilities under it's stewardship.the

I knew Ken Williams, and his dream was to have a pavillion where Hazlemere sports would florish and not be driven into the ground by politicians. Time to stand up and fight.

The Parish Council is simply wrong and out of touch with the community here. Petty minded and small is their thinking in trying to force this through.

The team have always been efficient and very helpful, ove and above what they needed to do. The main porblem has been the lack of heating in the function room, but heaters have been supplied to help solve this. I can't thank Milly enough for the help she's given me and my class.

This great club provides a great service to the community and must not be put at risk.

hazlemere rec grounds are crucial to the chiltern church football league . it is totally unacceptable to increase your fees to increase£40000. The interest of local grass roots clubs should be paramount for local children in the area to continue playing in these playing fields .

I thought this country was meant to be supporting sport in the community !!!
