This does not seem to be the best solution to the growing community issues...

Do not break up one of the most incredible, specialized learning environments around... find some other way to solve the overcrowding problem. Don't take from those who fight the hardest and need the most support!

Please rethink the sale of the school. It is needed for those special needs children.

Give these children the education they deserve and do not just ignore their rights to a public education with accommodation for special needs.

Respect all children and the ADA laws that protect those with disabilities. These children deserve an education with accommodations to be successful students.

Keep these fragile children in their school. Putting these children with other children can be very harmful

I know how important accommodations for special needs are. We need people to support these gifted children so they can become the people they know they are! Caregivers and teachers are incredible for what they do and should have all the resources they need and that is why this is so important! Please sign!

I am deeply concerned about the closing of the PCOE schools. A few years ago I'd heard that this was in the works so I'm not surprised but I am very concerned. My son spent 6 years at Secret Ravine and Sierra Vista. He went to these schools because he was not successful in a regular classroom. Had it not been for the amazing teachers and staff at Sierra Vista, he would not have graduated high school. PCOE is making a disastrous mistake by closing the 3 schools. The regular schools in Placer County are not equipped in any way to handle the students that will be displaced. The majority of special day classes lack dedicated bathrooms or even water. Please do not close Secret Ravine, Sierra Vista and Onorato.

Children need all the help they can get without making it harder for them and their families

This place needs to stay open. Here are some reasons. 1) those special needs kids would go to regular education classes. 2) those kids suddenly have homework to do. 3) those kids have formed relationships (father/daughter, mother/son, best friends, etc.) with their staff and friends. If friends get separated, they will be sad that they can't see each other anymore. 4) above states that there are some people have medical needs. Those kids will go from one school nurse that knows what's going on to a couple of school nurses that don't know what's going on and will have to be retrained in the medical field. 5) above also states that there are kids with behavior problems. When those kids get forcibally (done by force) get put into a different environment, they feel like the special needs system let them down. 6) those regular needs kids would feel like their not getting the attention that the special needs kids are getting. 7) if the kids are going to be integrated into regular Ed mainstream classes, let the kids do the school work if they can handle it. I have made some points. Please read through these. From a special needs adult to the parents of special needs kids, to Placer County Office of Education

These kids have needs beyond the norm. They need a safe, nurturing environment. Taking that from them is wrong.
