Most of the residents at these former Keiro Nursing Home facilities spent their teenage and young adult years in internment camps. Not abiding by the original agreement to continue the culturally sensitive needs of these seniors constitutes a form of senior abuse. It's heartbreaking.
The internment camps were one of the darkest examples of racism in our country's history. To believe that
a for-profit international real estate company will evict these seniors is a blatant and unconscionable form of racism. Just another example of business as usual.
When do we stop being such slow learners?

Please continue to serve the senior residents. Don't make profit the priority. It would be tragedy, for our most senior people to be forced to relocate at such a critical time we all live in.

The sale of the 4 Keiro facilities is absolutely tragic. More tragedy will follow if all of the conditions of the sale are not extended.
