Save Our Roads

PS: We do need someone who knows how to properly grade our roads and intersections. No intention to offend anyone, but I was raised in a mid-western rural area and what’s being done is not correct.

Why would we want to widen our roads and lose trees? That’s what we’re all about! Already we have non-residents blowing the stop sign and speeding down W 6th to party at Bird Island via Fernwood Park. I intentionally leave vertical growth (living speed bumps) to restrict 2-way traffic so drivers will slow down. We don’t need roads that wide, especially with all the kids on golf carts... just a disaster waiting to happen.

I love all the trees and Dirt Roads we have here in our unique town. I’m definitely against cutting down any trees and widening the Roads.

The fact that they are narrow keeps the speeds down After widening next move is paving

Wow. I’m surprised to see that something that would change our town so much would make it this far. Very disappointing.

No to the road expansions! It will only invite more cut through traffic to speed down our roads and take away the charm of our town.

Widening the roads to that extreme will take much of the amazing beauty of this Town away. We will lose our charm if this becomes the standard for storm water and also become a major polluter of the Lakes as we have no underlying infrastructure to handle the storm drainage. This plan should be dead on arrival.

This will not only affect Seventh Ave and Forest but is being proposed as the template for ALL dirt roads in town. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE and must be stopped. If our public works department cannot maintain our roads as they have been maintained for 100 years, we need new leadership. Also, just because there is grant money available does not mean that we are required to make these drastic changes. Windermere's unique qualities must be preserved!
