UPDATE - November 19th:

In a meeting, the head of facility management at Biomedicum has acknowledged the response from the community of employees regarding the outsourcing of the reception, but stated that the plans are at an irreversible stage. The reasons to go ahead with terminating the contracts of reception staff were explicitly stated not to be financial, but due to administrative difficulties in creating a flexible system that would ensure permanent staffing of the reception also in situations of sick-leave or holidays.

An official announcement will follow.

UPDATE - November 2nd:
On October 25th, KIs Facility Director responded to the petition with the following:

"The process to go ahead with the outsourcing of the receptions in Biomedicum as well as in Aula Medica, is [...] negotiated with the Unions in accordance with the Collaboration Agreement and the dismissals are handed over. The reason KI decided to outsource the receptions was taken to meet the requests from the business carried out by KI on both locations. The receptions will of course be staffed even onwards. KI must focus on development to meet the needs and unfortunately this sometimes has a negative effect for the employees affected."

Original Petition:
By February 21st 2022, KIs Universitetsförvaltningen plans to outsource reception service in Biomedicum and Aula Medica, terminating the contracts of the people who greet us every day on our way to work, facilitate our start at KI, and who give our institution a human face to visitors and employees alike.

Signing here, we express the opinion that our facilities' permanent reception-staff make an important familiar contribution to our work environment, and request their continued employment.
