save our local entertainment pubs & clubs
A few years ago, you could pop into almost any local pub and hear live bands. The local was the centre of the community. People would pop in after work, or meet up with friends on a friday evening and enjoy a night down the pub. Local bands had a place to play and practise their art. If they were any good, they would have a regular place to play. Today, Pubs are closing right across the board. Alcohol prices have shot through the roof and people can no longer afford a night down the pub, choosing instead to buy their alcohol in supermarkets and drink at home. This in turn means that pubs no longer have the customers so cannot afford to pay the bands. Without live music, what few people there are in the pubs, don't stop long. The overall effect is, PUBS ARE CLOSING DOWN. Not only is this detrimental to music lovers, it also means that communities are breaking down. Buildings are left derelict, People have nowhere to drink so end up in our parks causing other problems. Help us keep our Pubs and Clus Open.
