Over the years, Ham Parade has served the local community well with a range of useful services and retailers. For Ham Parade to continue as a vibrant shopping destination and for the livelihoods of the existing retailers to be safeguarded, Richmond Council needs to play its part in ensuring a variety of business occupy the available units. I urge the councillors to refuse the current application for change of usage for this retail unit on the grounds that it is of no benefit to the local community. Groceries, we all buy them every week of our lives. A new home, most of us only ever do that a few times in our lives.

I have nothing against Estate Agents, however, this is a small parade, there are already three estate agents, if you want to attract people, like me to shop on the parade you need a variety or quite simply it will die.

There are already MORE than enough estate agents on the parade. We need more shops to keep it alive.

As a local resident and frequent user of Ham Parade, I believe we need interesting retail units to keep the footfall on the parade coming - 3 agents is more than enough to service an area this size.
