Everyday that I drive to work I am confronted with more and more land being overtaken for blueberry farming. Local households are being door knocked by individuals offering ridiculous amounts for their land. Some have given in and sold up. I understand how enticing it must be to have such offers made, but I beseech to those considering sales, think about why you live where you do, and those of us who wish to stay in a safe, unspoilt environment.

as a breeder of native and exotic parrots, some rare and endangered, i have grave concerns regarding the chemicals that would appear in the water these birds are given.

I grew up swimming in this river. My children now swim in this river. The orara means a lot to so many people. I hope that someone puts a stop to this before it's too late. I'm so sick of our beautiful land and rivers being destroyed all for the sake of making someone rich. So sad

Don't destroy this land and this beautiful river!!! Stop this!! My Grandfather was from here.. I loved my childhood venturing along this river.. Please let it live on for all generations to enjoy

Environment should come first. No water no life! Please think about the long term affects of these type of farming practises. Our communities existence depends on a sustainable environment, blueberry farms are not promoting heathy & sustainable practises. Act before it's too late!

I live at Ramornie and I'm worried with all the water they will be taking will lead to excessive salt and then we won't be able to pump water for drinking and the fish and platypus distruction as well as the chemicals entering the river system just look at other places that has this what it has done to the environment there

Live at central bucca. Know the frustraring situation well. Unfortunately we have to phone and complain all the time to "keep the b...s honest" as the government departments are understaffed or aperthetic and the blueberry growers think they are above the law. It is tiring but who else will protect our environment.

I live in the Clarence Valley. We only want organic farms in our valley, not commercial operations using chemical pest control.

Land clearing, draining wetlands and high use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers is not sustainable land use, especially in high rainfall areas.
Protect our rivers from inappropriate agricultural and mining developments.

I rely on the orara river for water for general house hold, my dogs and chickens taking roughly 2000 ltrs a week, the river is almost to low to pump from and with so many farms with unrestricted access is going to cripple the river and its eco system it is a beautiful river and we cannot let it be destroyed

This is utter madness, we moved to Old Glen Innes Rd 20 years ago for the clean fresh air without toxins.
Both my husband and I have respiratory problems. I have had much less problems while my husband has only been hospitalised twice in intensive care compared to the chronic conditions we had down in Sydney.
We have a chemical free home to maintain our good health and don't want the toxic chemicals they spray on blueberries to invade our small farm. If we have a little bit of overflow that may contaminate waterways which where I live there are none the EPA jumps all over us so why are they allowing this to happen so close to a river .
I will never eat or buy a local blueberry again and will make it known what these farms are doing ,destroying our environment that includes endangered flora and fauna.
Looks like as soon as we are able too, we will be packing our bags and moving out of this beautiful valley where we have been so happy.
Please save our environment and our beautiful valley.
