The effects of certain chemicals used in blueberry farming are neurotoxic ... This information is known by government departments but not acknowledged or informed to the public... Time to stop poisoning for profit...

We don't need yet more poisons in our environment! If this was an organic farm that recycled the water it used and maintained areas for wildlife it might be a different matter. But we don't need mass clearing, loss of vulnerable vegetation and wildlife, and yet more poisons flowing into our environment. Not to mention having the life sucked out of the Orara for irrigation. When will we learn? Farming can be done sustainably - why aren't we looking at ways to do this? Unless it can be done in a sustainable way - forget it. We don't need this type of "development"!

Who do our elected officials truely represent.?When will everyone understand the true importance of our rivers.I live on the orara river so i know its diversity is very special.who in their right mind would risk such an important ecosystem.for the dollars from irresponsible farming practice.?

When is enough , enough !! I understand the right to enterprise !! But in the sake of long term or unreversable damage and pollution is very concerning. They pollute & don't care of fines.

Water is for life, and all that currently entails on the Orara River, not for more profit in the pockets of the blueberry farmers and just more chemicals for the rest of us. Then there is also the elimination of our fauna and lost natural views forever!

while not agreeing with some of the claims about poisoning and sweeping statements regarding 'the whole of the river' and 'all of the cattle' etc, I do agree that it is very concerning when bulldozers are disturbing the river and there seems to be a reluctance for the EPA to become involved - this is what I don't understand.

This seems to be a problem that is rapidly spreading through our area of the Mid North Coast! We have some of the most amazing rainforests, rivers, beaches, magnificent waterfalls- and we've had this problem before with the crop dusting affecting babies born whose mothers were exposed to these chemicals! This needs to stop now!
We need to only allow them to grow, if they are grown organically. Otherwise, our beautiful area is just going to be a toxic dump.
Bye bye tourism- can't eat the fish you catch here anymore!
Can't swim in the rivers, or pump the water to your home for drinking, showering etc as we do now. This needs to be heavily regulated!!!

I live along the orara river and it is at the point where we are unable to pump from the river due to it being so low. The water we use isn't only for myself & house mate but also our 14 chickens and dog's!
The younger generation is going to suffer, the locals are going to suffer, the animals are going to suffer & the land suffers.. what is there to question!? STOP THIS NOW!!!
