We, the undersigned, respectfully request government officials save our open, recreational space, and DENY any Application to Amend the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) Large Scale, for the approximately 76 acres currently enjoyed by the public as Nature Walk Golf Course.

We, the undersigned, oppose the closing of Nature Walk Golf Course and development of 150 new homesites.

Nature Walk Golf Course is viewed by many as asset to the City of Lynn Haven, providing an affordable recreational opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy the sport of golf. This executive golf course design promotes children learning the sport, spending time with their mothers and fathers on the golf course, and enables less competitive, perhaps older golfers to participate. As The News Herald's Matt Moore reported Jan 1, 1996, "(city officials) decided they would like to build this golf course and control it for the benefit of the older citizens of Lynn Haven."

Mack Lewis, the original developer of Nature Walk Golf Course and surrounding neighborhoods, stated his intentions as he transferred ownership of these nearly 100 acres to the City of Lynn Haven, as reported in the News Herald April 19, 1996: "I feel good because it lets the Lewis family leave a footprint in Bay County and in Lynn Haven."
