Being a parent of a special needs child who received no support in main stream education I know first hand that these children will not receive the help they deserve by being placed in a main stream environment

Having spent time in this nursery and seen the excellent work that goes on there, in a highly specialised environment, I can't see how the same quality can be achieved by diluting the service into three different venues.

Please keep this wonderful nursery open! This provision is vital for parents/carers and children to reach their potential; taking this away will without a doubt be deterimental to many children's development and a loss of a great support network for parents.

KEEP THE EARLY SUPPORT TEAM IN PLACE AND GIVE THEM ADDITIONAL RESOURCES TO HELP THE CHILDREN WHO WOULD HUGELY BENEFIT FROM THEIR HELP AND SUPPORT! DO NOT TAKE AWAY THIS VITAL RESOURCE FROM THE MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN IN THE AREA :@

This nursery gave my daughter the best start in her already difficult life, they also supported me and helped build my confidence so that I could be the best mother possible, to take it away would be a travesty!

I understand that changes need to be made to provision for children with SEN, especially for those from reception upwards - parents need more choice and support, but I feel SBC have massively underestimated the need for specialist nursery provision and the Early Support Nursery. The nursery is such a special place for the children and their families. It is all down to the dedication and expertise of all the staff who work there and the facilities including a superb sensory room that has been provided by the Support Group. Do something right for once Stockton Borough Council and don't ignore the families who know first hand how the nursery works.
