There are only 4 stops on Risinghurst so Barton bus could come as they have them so regular it is totally unfair we have to wait an hour between buses

We are going back 25 years if you cut the bus. What about the elderly community. Why can’t the Barton bus come on to Risinghurst such a simple solution. We are penalised living in Risinghurst. Barton always get everything.

We need more frequent bus service in Risinghurst and Sandhills area. We were already having less frequent bus service prior to removing the ongoing service and this has caused more negative impact on the people in community from surrounding area.

If this were simply temporary and induced by fear of public transport in a pandemic it would be more understandable. The reduction of service from both companies leaves residents unable or unwilling to walk up to a mile from the no. 8 service in the dark, and in bad winter weather, without access to beyond Risinghurst for evening entertainment, eating out or late night shopping--unless they go by car, which is just what the councils are trying to prevent. To take just one example, when Oxford Folk Club is able to operate again (we have no regular venue at the moment) I do a late night car run for supporters who have come into Oxford by bus but don't want to catch 2 buses home. Usually these are people over 70. I can't pick them all up and open up the club at the same time. Up to 4 people weekly would be deprived of one social engagement a week, and the club would lose even more support.

One bus an hour is not nearly enough.

If you are without a car you rely on the regular No. 9 bus service to get to Headington or Oxford

Very inconvenient having to possibly wait up to a hour for a bus

I suggested to Oxford Bus Co that they should divert some of the Barton services to Risinghurst. They were not amused!

We are encouraged to use public transport yet this vital service to Risinghurst has been reduced to one bus an hour. How can this be justified when buses to Barton are 6 an hour? It is a vital route for the many elderly that live on the estate who cannot walk to Headington shops.

It’s very important for our community to have this service and for our family!
