To the current Victorian Planning Minister, Mr Richard Wynne
The petition of voters of Moonee Valley and its surrounds draws to the attention of the Minister for Planning that we are frustrated and very disappointed by his decision to approve a 30 storey development in Moonee Ponds.
We respectfully remind the Minister that he has been elected to serve in the best interests of the Victorian people. In this case, the majority of local residents, backed by the local Council and local Labor MP, did not approve of this development in its current form. The Minister was requested to exercise his powers to only approve a development for half of the proposed height. The Ministers decision to allow the development to proceed as originally proposed is clearly not aligned to the wishes of the residents of the area, and nothing has been done to address the many real concerns we have with this development.
The petitioners therefore request that the Victorian Planning Minister reconsider and withdraw his decision to allow the 30 storey development within Moonee Ponds to proceed. We urge the Minister to act in the interests of Moonee Valley residents to defend and protect our neighborhood from inappropriate overdevelopment .

I'm pro-development and pro-densification, but these approvals for buildings over 16 stories - going against the councils own Moonee Ponds Structure Plan - that are happening in the MP/AV/Flem-Kens area are not appropriate.
If such developments are approved, then planning considerations and support are needed for public transport, and amenities and infrastructure in the area. Please note there is only 1 secondary school on the area that this area is zoned to.
Totally inappropriate for this area as infrastructure inadequate to cater for the overdevelopment. Craigieburn line cannot handle peak hours patronage and Tram line also feeling the stress during peak hours commute. Add this to delays on Holmes Road and Mt Alexander Rd .
I am a resident of Moonee Ponds and I am strongly opposed to this development. I am deeply concerned that the infrastructure of its surrounds (including public transport) is not sufficient to accommodate the impact of this development.
Thirty stories? I am not against development at all, but this is greedy over development. The increase in the population of our neighbourhood, additional vehicles, traffic congestion....thirty stories for this development....just not sustainable.Moonee Ponds...unliveable
Why should the community continue to argue with developers and the government about inappropriate development. Public Transport and roads are at capacity. Why should our amenity be compromised. Can someone in government please explain to me why we need a 30 story building in the middle of a suburb. We are not the CBD.
Melbourne isn't the city with 2 million people as the city you grew up in either.

Why have a local council when their voices aren't heard and the state government over rule what is happening here. Apart from the builders and the state government, who in our area will benefit from such a monstrosity???? Won't 16 stories be big enough for you!!!
