I agree. Thankfully Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality is now requiring the developer to do the right thing. This is a top priority because it will impact our health and safety if this is not done correctly.

Hi and thank you for signing our petition. We just started our yard sign campaign to spread the word and would be happy to drop off a sign for your yard. We would love to put several yard signs along Anniston Ave and if you have neighbors that also want signed I can drop off more for their yards.

My son is a professional hydrogeologist. He states that target remediation goals must be met before construction can begin. Further, presence of heavy metals like lead and arsenic are common on old golf courses. This project will not only affect surrounding neighbors, but the people who will actually be forced to live on the toxic land.

In view of the toxins in the ground, and the growing housing density in Gulfport, the old course would better serve the city as a park or other green space than a crowded, and hazardous subdivision!
