my sister comes down at the weekend to help mind my sick mother she is a great help as i mind her all week she now has to not do her evenings shift at work to catch the 6 o clock bus in the evening and has to pay someone to bring her in to carlow on sunday after noon to catch the 4 45 bus back to dublin WE REALY NEED TO GET OUR BUS SERIVICES BACK

This is a serious issue, as many depend on this service. I use it myself many times. It is wrong that these services are been taken from the rural towns and villages. Yet again, the big urban areas take precedence.

The Old N9 road is being forgotten in the way the new bus service is being allowed to evolve. Given that premission has being given to bus companies (knowing full well business has to be made profitable) has huge ramifactions for the communities on the route in question. Strange to say it seems that the people on the route are no longer of any concern in the big picture of things. There still needs to be a service on the route that is reasonable and worth while to the general public. It may be only once in a blue moon that a person needs to use the service but its nice to know its there when required. There is a major need fro a truly great service when tou concider that as a result of the last few years people have cut their expences and find the use of public transport when the concider the options in getting back on the job market it would be vital to get home from work and not find your using a taxi service. The problem with a rural area is that unlike a large urban conerbation that you simply dont have the option to use either bus,taxi olight rail. There is another factor that peope dont realise is that people in the country simply dont all work in the town or village the live in. The one thing that should be installed on the N9 would bethe instalation of the PSO which would start the other major player think seriously about the route -particularly given that they are not too long off the route and with the charged situation their profit margins could be better as the route had foot fall on it. It is vital as the undermining of the wellbeing of village life is bbeing chipped away. Support the Campaign

As we have entered the opening decades of the twenty-first century, public transportation has been pushed back to the stone-age. The government only sees public transportation for the major cities and the rail network. For those who live in the countryside and rely on this service for school, college, hospital and employment we are being treated as second-class citizens within our own country because we don't live within the cities.
