A better play park is a must but not in this location

This immensley appreciated amenity is vital to the community. In an area where there is next to nothing already for all ages to spend recreational time it is the worst project to be considered by a council who obviously don't stay here and depend on it as the local and outer population do. Young families have nowhere else other than the used needle infected smaller, neglected "play areas" that frankly would challenge anyones mental health just to sit there. The Benarty area already has a huge deficit in areas of interest or recreational enjoyment considering its in such a beautiful place. The idea of community is surely coming together, changing this according to the proposed plans will clearly hurt this community even more leaving it to being a place with more problems than before. Finally if there is such a budget for the proposal, why cant they find a budget to regenerate facilities for eg the 12 to 18 year olds? Not another exlcusive bike park though that only serves certain folk with expensive bikes on the back of their cars with equipment.

Nothing of the Meedies should be lost. Presently it is a wonderful facility, providing an encounter with space, nature and environment, for families and people of all walks of life.
I use it, and when I do it is always full of people enjoying all different aspects of the facility.
DONT STEAL IT FROM THE PEOPLE. It was a mining area, where workers toiled to bring coal to the surface, sacrificing their health and sometimes their lives. Leve the Meedies as a Legacy to their lives, let the generations that followed on after the mine closed, have the pleasure of the Meedies.

Surely 2 years of lockdown has shown how important local green spaces (and play parks for the kids) are to the local communities.

It is a fabulous park where many families take in the walks as well as the play equipment. Would be sad to see it reduced

Would be very sad to lose 20% of the park which is loved by thousands. Losing the venue space also seems to be a strange decision.

Have been going to the “Medes” since my kids were little. We now take my grandchildren, it would be sad too see the play area reduced. What is the land too be used for that the play park is loosing.
