As a resident in Neptune Beach and a former resident for 26 years in Atlantic Beach, I sincerely urge Duval County School Board to reconsider the conversation around closing AB elementary. The work they are doing there with the children in the local community is foundational for the community health and overall educational wellbeing of these children. Having experienced when schools close and children are rerouted to various neighboring schools, the impacts are both negative and irreversible. AB should remain open based upon the staff and local neighborhood preferences.
Thank you, Paula English.
Former DCPS educator and local resident.

Absolutely the best school ever- both of my sons attended the little pink school and never have they had a more positive learning environment and teaching staff than they had at ABE. I am shocked there would even be ANY consideration of closing this incredible school! This “plan” should be immediately quashed and a resolution to keep this school open permanently!!!

This would be a mistake on children’s education as being someone who works in the field

Our family has a newborn child and one main reason we love living in AB is due to the prospect of sending our child to ABE.
What will happen after our state and county leaders privatize and monetize our school systems? I worry for the future once our neighborhood schools are taken away from our children.
Remember the famous words of our 43rd president, “ is our children learning”?

This school is such a joy, a part of Atlantic Beach history. Please stop wiping out anything that has roots for the sake of money. These kids matter, this school matters.

I have lived on Magnolia for 21 years and always felt joy watching our local children playing outside and taking field trips to the beach. This is our jewel
