In my small village a lone there are at least 5 elderly, vulnerable people who do not have mobile phones and rely on a land line and probably more that I do not know about. Multiply that by the thousands of villages across the country and you have a perfect storm of vulnerable people out of touch with carers, medics, family and friends. What hair brained financial idiot thought this one up?

92 year old mum will be without her Careline if the internet goes down. Disgusting leaving elderly people who are already vulnerable in a worse position. It means no peace of mind for their families either

What’s gonna happen if/when the internet and mobile phones networks go down? They do regularly so landlines are our alternative communications and we need to keep them.

I would be completely lost without my landline. There's many elderly people rely on their landlines and many who don't have or want mobile phones.
