They are using the same theme, i.e., "save the salmon" as used in the Interior to farmers to stop irrigating hay fields for dairy and beef cattle.

This is corrupt and the players behind the scenes need to be exposed and held accountable

We need transparency Food security is an important issue, flooding some our most fertile agricultural land isn't wise.

This is ridiculous and so unfair to the farmers.

“Natures trusts” should not have such overreaching powers on local communities.. we should have a say in what happens in our backyards and we should be consulted beforehand, to be given an opportunity to look at ALL the science and reasoning behind their decisions, not just the science they cherry-pick to back them up.

This land belongs to us all, not just a few. Let’s discuss this - together.

This is Not about 'restoring' the Estuary it is about Destroying a much visited by thousands , appreciated, photographed Wildlife/ Bird sanctuary that is accessed by the Dikes that have been there for many decades 70+yrs ? providing productive Farmland supporting local Farms and Food supply !! This is a poorly prepared Plan based on the wishes of one man living on Khenipsen Rd overlooking Cowichan Bay Estuary who has tried various ways for years to eliminate Industry - Marine and Forestry by various means using CERCA - Cowichan Estuary Restoration Conservation Assoc. being Founder / Chair as a front to influence governments and agencies to Destroy the Estuary as it is to improve his view and comfort by eliminating "lights and noise" in the 'Working Bay' - after all we do live on an Island. He used the CVRD DownZoning Process in 2016-2017 to attempt to eliminate Western Stevedoring and Pacific Industrial Marine with Jobs supporting local families. He spoke as a delegation to North Cowichan Municipal Council 2015/ 16? against WFP Mill operating - never mind being 2nd largest Tax payer in MNC along with Chemainus WFP providing Jobs supporting local Families !! He presented as CERCA Chair at VIU as to eliminating Industry and putting it back to saltwater marshland in 2014? I attended. He led a sneaky Tour into WFP mill site on a Sunday morning following VIU presentation day before complaining about the Mill's existence. I attended thinking - this man is on a mission to Destroy Cowichan Bay Estuary as we know it !! What about the JUB Sewage Lagoons Outfall into Cowichan River to Cowichan Bay ??!! That is an Environmental necessary PROJECT to spend $3M plus on relocating or replacing the Sewage Treatment servicing Cowichan Bay, North Cowichan, City of Duncan, Cowichan Tribes, CDH, areas of CVRD

There needs to be a walk around the wetlands and use culverts instead of removing dike to keep farm and bird habitat. Water flowing down from hills will flood road and back if I have heard correctly.

The dikes are there for a reason, removing them is completely disregarding peoples livelihood and danger to the eco system.

Slow them down and do it right or do nothing. More information, before they move ahead and Make sure all the people that will be affected will know before anything goes ahead.

Government oversight has disappeared... Government accountability has disappeared..... Time for the people of the land to stand up as community.... and demand accountability and results for the people ... not the... SELF SET GATEKEEPERS .....
