I and my family have been visitors to MV for decades. The first time to Edgartown, but since then exclusively to Oak Bluffs. One of the main festivities I look forward to is the Polars Bears. I have seen this group grow from a few, to sometimes . The group is very diverse. Sincerely, the Polar Bears welcome everyone! Lifetime friendships have been made. Participants look forward to this annual celebration of life and spirituality. Even the sharing of a meal prepared by the participants. This is an example of how a shameful time in the history of the United States of America, can become the medicine that heals. Just as cites of historic activities are marked for posterity, so to the Inkwell should be marked for posterity. PUT UP THE SIGNS!

Oaks Bluff needs to recognize it's history. The signs were approved once, this secondary approval is too much.

The signs are a significant historical reference of Inkwell Beach and its place and use on Martha's Vineyard and the Black Community.
