my grandson has become a different boy since starting at this scouts. to shut it would be a terrible blow to the children in the area

My mum started the 1st rainbow guide group in Swansea many yrs ago and has sadly passed away 3 months ago. I was a member of rainbows,brownies and guided in the Fforest Fach area of Swansea. It is a exellent thing for children to take part in as there is not a lot around for them to do.

I went there as a brownie, can't believe they would take this away from the children. A place like this is so needed to keep communities together.

This is important for the local children and should not be turned into yet more accommodation. People need something positive to do in their leisure time.

Save the scouts hut. Both my children have been going there for a while now and they really enjoy. They have learnt so much going there, they have gained new skills and enjoy the daily activities. Dont close the scouts huts door for the sake of a money boost think of the children. This is keeping the kids off the street away from computers and out of trouble. The hut has meaning to so many and i think will carry on being meaningful to many more. PLEASE PLEASE DONT CLOSE OUR HUT. SAVE OUR HUT

Youth organisations, and Scouting in-particular, provide a valuable (invaluable?) contribution to the development of young people into responsible adults who will contribute positively to society. A scout group is much better able to run successfully and effectively at a dedicated HQ premises, with a greater sense of identity and purpose. This Scout HQ should be retained for the benefit of both current and future young people, and the local community more generally. You (the council) have a clear moral obligation to retain this facility, which provides a far more cost-effective and financially accessible service than your own youth services ever could. Don't sell the family silver for a short-term one-off cash boost.

SAVE THE SCOUT hut let me tell you all why I went to scout for about 3 years and I learnt so much there I made really good friends they where like my family I learnt so much in scouts about life skills and other things. Not only is it good for life skills it's good for children to go there and not be causing trouble on the streets there is nothing to do in clase and that scout hut has been open for years my nan lives right next door to the scout hut and it dose not bother her so KEEP THE SCOUT HUT OPEN !!!

Kids these days are slated for not doing anything and becoming a technology generation - scouts/cubs and beavers teaches them skills, encourages friendships and a srnse of community and giving and keeps the young members active happy and sociable.

As a former Cub/Scout/AIR Cadet I can only call on you to prevent the loss of this facility. The experiences I had were instrumental in equipping me for the future. First as a police officer and now as a teacher. My son has recently joined Cubs. I would hate to see him miss out on what can be gained.
