Save our hedge

Since moving in to our house 10 years ago, we have received many compliments from neighbours and friends regarding the condition of the perimeter hedge. We are aware that it is prominent in the local area of Queens and Randall Roads and we try to keep it looking neat and well-maintained.
However, the Council feels that it is obstructing the highway and we have been ordered to cut the hedge back to our boundary.
As the condition of the hedge is fragile, such a harsh cut will inevitably mean the hedge will die & we will be left with only unsightly, dead, brown hedging for the entire length of the hedge on both Randall and Queens Roads.
We have repeatedly appealed to the Council to avoid this & have suggested alternatives but they require us to undertake the work imminently.
We would really appreciate your support in signing our online petition to ask for the Council to allow us to keep the hedge.
It provides a natural habitat for nesting birds and is an asset to the neighbourhood.
If we do not undertake the work, the Council may issue us with a legal notice and undertake the work themselves (at our cost).
It would be such a shame to lose our lovely hedge.
Please join us in our petition - your support is very much appreciated.
