I support the objection to Harrogate Borough Councils proposed granting of retrospective and permanent planning permission for the two sites on Cass Lane and one at Thistle Hill Stables on the grounds that this is greenbelt land.

HBC seems to have strict rules for planning in certain areas around the district for local resident private properties, but when it comes to desicions about Green belt land, we need green spaces, and we need to protect them, their are other alternative places.

The green belt land between Knaresborough and Harrogate is a precious asset.
To allow any building on this land means its green status is lost forever

Legitimising these 3 sites may save the council some enforcement costs in the short term, but will very quickly lead to unrestricted development of the Green Belt.

HDC should reconsider their plans. Non green belt areas in Harrogate or surrounding areas should be used.Also they are setting a bad precedent in that now I can now buy some green belt land,build a house and HDC will authorise my build

HBC appears to be taking the line of least resistance and acting expediently by pushing this part of the plan through. There must be other options in the 1,308 square kilometers of Harrogate Borough for the proposed traveller sites which don't break the law by encroaching on green belt.

The Green Belt and rural atmosphere of Calcutt should remain. We already have a traveller site and more sites in our area is unfair. Put them in Harrogate!!!!!!!
