The fishing industry needs help in controlling the cormorant bird population. This bird is devastating to the native fish population. With cleaner lakes these dive birds are able to see their food fish easier and can feed their young and push up survival rates. This should be a easy fix and needs to be addressed. Not asking for a extinction but a manageable number that can keep populations at cohabitate levels.

The cormorants come into McKay Bay by the 1000’s all summer long and I’m sick of it get something done Michigan DNR!!!

I have witnessed first hand what an uncontrolled population can do. Some of the islands in Green Bay are now totally void of trees, bushes, grass. Nothing but rock and sand. Totally destroyed all the habitat.

We definitely need them controlled ! Wiped out ? Not sure about that as that’s up to DNR biologists but they be left to populate out of control and keep wiping out beautiful islands with trees and undergrowth let alone the fisheries !!

I live in North Dakota and there is way way too many here. They are destroying our Lakes. Eating all of our perch and small walleyes
