Leave it as it is as used all year around by public for all sorts of enjoyment, not just for 3 months of the year for cricket

We have so few open spaces to enjoy and see children playing freely. Dog walkers enjoy this field and have made friends over the years doing this. As long as people are responsible and keep the area clean and tidy they should be free to enjoy this space.

the cricket club have already fenced off areas which used to be publicly used. Do they wish to alienate the entire town?

I don't agree with fencing off this green space as it is used widely by the surrounding community to play games and sledge in the winter. It is also an important throufare to the Whitley Bay Young People's Centre, the horses field Marden Estate and Cullercoats. THe Cricket on the field is only played seasonally a few times per year. It is important to have green spaces for our children to play on. The majority of dog walkers are responsible and pick up after their dogs is it fair that the majority of people should loose this space for the irresponsible minority ?

I have a wee corgi, reggie, who adores to run. Me and family are responsible dog owners, we pick up after our dog, we only seek to run with him and allow him to interact with other dogs in a safe, away from the road manner. If it is fenced off, you'll still get the irresponsible people climbing over those fences leaving rubbish. Let the dogs run, and don't let a really small minority ruin it for everyone. I have lovely memories of sledging there in the winter

This a great place for everyone. Used it plenty for dog training the puppy. Needs to stay open. The cricket square itself can be protected if necessary.

This field is used by the public at large and should remain as a facility for public use. I personally use it to exercise my dog (always picking up the dog poo) as do many other dog walkers. I also see lots of younger children and families using it (as it is a wider, safe space) to play games. This happens all year round. Removal of the pitch to the general public will be a sad loss to the wider community.
