I am a long time resident of Clarke County and Berryville and wish to show my support for the Foreign Exchange Program and Ms. Barton as the coordinator. This program is a great way to show the values of cultural diversity and the opportunity to expand Clarke County students horizons. In the past, two of my three children (two of which are now military combat veterans) participated in the program. I believe the experience they received in visiting other countries and meeting foreign exchange students in the CC school system helped make them productive, engaging American citizens. Please do not allow this program to be discontinue in Clarke County.

My family has hosted many exchange students and each experience is different and special in its own way. My kids have a global awareness they would not get in a classroom and it has taught them acceptance and tolerance while learning about new cultures and countries. We need this program in our county and we need Tanya Barton as coordinator.
