Under current proposed bus service changes scheduled for 18th February, Arriva Yorkshire will be reducing their timetables across a number of services including the 260 and 261 bus services which currently serve Kirkheaton, Dalton and part of Mirfield.

The changes will result in Sunday services being reduced to two-hourly and Monday to Saturday evening journeys completed withdrawn. The last bus from Kirkheaton to Huddersfield is proposed to be at 17:35 (17:19 on Saturdays) and the last bus from Huddersfield towards Kirkheaton will be at 18:45.

These changes will have a detrimental effect on all passengers who use our evening and Sunday bus services both for commuting to / from work and for leisure activities.

We, the undersigned, demand that Arriva Yorkshire reverse these proposed changes to allow for a full consultation alongside the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to identify appropriate funding for these services.
