This cannot stand and the original plans for retail must move forward. Several new residents / buyers in East Brach, including my wife and me, inquired before buying our home and were told the space would be retail. Changing that now would open the developer up to law suits given the possible misrepresentation and or the lack of agreement from existing residents.

Developers keep your promises of New Urbanism with a Town Center and a mini Annapolis.

As an East Beach resident, I do not support the change to apartments from retail…..nor was this properly communicated to us.

When we first considered to move here we were told that space was going to have retail & restaurants. This community has been misled & lied to, only to benefit the developers! We must take drastic measures to stop this, it is abhorrent! The developers, if they cared could of produced a lovely, charming seaside venue for boutique shops, bistro restaurants, wine bars, etc., but instead we will all have to stare at massive structures blocking the marina & destroying what could of been memorable, coastal beauty!

The apartment building has to stop. This is not what we bought into.

Thank you for initiating this petition. I have lived in this community since 2006. I love East Beach and feel blessed to live here. That said, I have sadly observed broken promises to East Beach homeowners who took a chance and bought into this community. The mini Annapolis that was promised to them has been replaced by apartments so dense and high any hopes of a view of even the old Marina is gone, much less a mini Annapolis. This is more of the same — broken promises and more apartments...hopefully something can be done to change this.

Bart Frye needs to stick to the plan that everyone was sold on. There are too many apartments around East Beach as it is.

We’d like to see the retail space to serve our neighborhood and others.

A Berlin Wall of apartments is being constructed on Pretty Lake. The bastardization of the Village Square concept is merely the latest travesty to occur.

We need more retail not more apartments. I agree with the petition to stop the "progress" and keep some retail!

The rents have to be realistic in order for a small business to operate.

Agree with your thoughts. What was promised when moved here never happened.

Not surprised. The developer will do anything to finish building out phase 7.

This is pure greed. Stop the apartments!

As a relatively new resident I am appalled at how many apartments have been built in the short time I have lived here. Our community does not need more apartments!
