Cmon council update the facilities!!! I understand there are far too many to save but at least make their final days comfy and happy. How about getting volunteers in to help care for them.?

It is totally NOT OK FNDC. There are a lot of dedicated people in your electorate. Reach out for their help. Think outside the box. Use the registration money you get. Sack your current system and build a better system. Look at what other councils do - you'd do well to look at the Auckland shelters. Henderson, Silverdale in particular. They have a rehoming scheme going. Get advice, have guidelines. The barest minimum under the Act is a complete bloody joke. Dogs need more than that. Rehomings will always go bad if their experience while at the pound is so traumatic. The transition must be as comfortable and kind as possible. Shoddy job FNDC. Shoddy job. Lots of room for improvement.

Save our dogs they just want to be loved open the pounds up for the people to come and spend time with dogs and to have a chance to fall in love with And also stop the registration fees just saying

I am shocked and disheartened that a petition is necessary to highlight these failings. I expected that everything possible would have been done to rectify any of these shortcomings when they occurred.
