Far North council is failing in their duty of care. To not even meet the minimum standards of care required is appalling and their failure to remedy these issues is dis graceful.

Step up and treat these dogs with respect. It's their owners fault they have been let down. The least any council pound can do is look after them and find them a home. Keep them warm, feed and stimulated.

Keeping dogs in such stressful situations and then temp testing to see if they are going to make it through the system is ridiculous. They need exercise etc

My dog was in Kaitaia pound for 2weeks because that’s how long ROGER said the investigation took about her allegedly biting someone (bullshit) . When I got her back she was skinny I could see her bones , she was scared of the people I collected her from and she smelt so bad . Her feces was runny for days before it went back to normal and she had patches on her body . I loathe the pound and the people who work there .

The Animal Welfare Act is in place to be adhered to by EVERYONE, including the pounds of this country. It is absolutely disgraceful to treat any living being to such a low standard. This is NOT OK!
