We need to keep leisure centre squash courts open so that everyone gets a chance to play this fantastic sport.

Stupid to let them go, lot of daily users miles to travel for next ones

These courts are essential for the development of the game in Gwent. Squash has a long, proud history within this part of the World and losing these courts would be a real blow.

At a time when Wales has produced the current British No 1 and World No 12 male player in Joel Makin and the current World No 9 female player in Tesni Evans, and when Wales has just finished third in the Men's World Team Championship, why on earth would any competent sports administrator even consider reducing the number of courts in Wales and reducing the opportunities for other juniors to achieve similar success? They should be looking to build more courts. Get a grip.

I think it vitally important to keep these courts open for general public. Yes there are private clubs to go to this not an option to the general public. The nearest courts would be Newport. Over the years courts have closed in Chepstow, Underwood, st Pierre, cwrt bleddyn, Newport centre, spytty. The council has a duty to provide facilities especially to an attacked sport. The council has shut down too many courts in the Gwent area. Please keep these courts as there are not many left.

Who is making these decisions and on what basis. Whoever is responsible is helping to kill squash off. Where next for the axe. So much for the fight against obesity.

Caldicot Squash Club has been an integral part of the community for many years and had produced players of national and international standing. The loss of amenity would be significant and a blow to competitive sport and leisure in the town.

Don't forget Racket ball players use the courts as well. Great exercise in a short time in any weather.

This is a very great shame, and should be resisted as much as possible. I play against Caldicot in the Gwent league, and very much enjoy going there.

This is a valuable resource to the community where we would expect all sporting activities to be encouraged

Why is this even an option? The amount of times I've tried booking up and they're both busy. Its not like they aren't used and it's not as if they cost alot to upkeep. Keep them open

Shocking! Played on these courts as a youngster..... Would love for them to still be there if i chose to go back to the sport!!!! Nearest courts are at least half an hour away and that’s if you are over 17 & are able to drive........

Squash is a very healthy inclusive sport and should be supported

Absolutely ridiculous to close the squash courts at Caldicot Leisure Centre. There are plenty of soft play areas around Caldicot. So to close the courts for this reason makes no sense at all .

Please re consider the exclusion of Calidcot squash courts. Squash has been a consistent source of exercise in my family. My dad plays 3-4 times a week, he is in his 60's now and this is his preferred sport. He would have to travel to Monmouth to play which seems unfair after playing squash for over 30 years at Caldicot.

It would be a great shame to loose this facility in Caldicott as alternative courts are so far away.

I do not approve of the closing of the courts
