Me and my husband took the platinum membership so we could play squash, one of the reason we chose this club, I think they should have taken away some of the tennis courts instead, or at least think about moving the squash courts upstairs! We love playing squash in the cooler months!

Appalled at the lack of consultation and consideration by local management backed up by corporate leadership without the courage to actively engage with their members.

Don't get rid of the squash courts.Just locate them elsewhere on the premises or put your new facility somewhere else. There's plenty of space in the back car park, which is hardly used.No doubt you'll make more space for the new car wash, when it eventually arrives

Squash is an integral part of this club. I like that David Lloyd are investing in new gym training equipment and classes, which I hope will be very popular, but the squash courts need to be replaced. If the squash courts do go, a reduction in the racquets membership needs to be reduced.

Squash provides a high intensity, cardio-vascular workout, and is known to burn around 1,000 calories an hour. Medical research rates squash as one of the best sports for overall fitness, wellbeing, weight management and life expectancy. Why damage this fantastic sport, that delivers all these benefits, for an untried fad?
Why are the David Lloyd Clubs senior management team behaving in such a grotesquely disrespectful fashion towards the sport of squash? You should be funding squash programmes at each of your venues with support for coaches and development officers instead of this untried fitness fad, which apparently is only available to those paying for premium membership. Giving squash members such little notice of closure is deeply offensive. The behaviour of DL management in this whole process – the clear lack of honesty and integrity – has undermined the image of the company in both public and commercial terms. You need to apologise to those squash members and get those courts back in action – RIGHT NOW.

I may rarely use the courts but it’s part of our membership and identity as a club. It’s a disgrace that they should be removed with no consultation with members.

Squash is an all round excellent sport. Fitness, agility, stamina, who would want to take this away! A rackets club?

As well as playing squash & racquetball on these courts, they were brilliant for practicing with my son when he was just starting to learn tennis. I also used them for rehab after an accident. It would be a travesty to lose them.
