What a shambles. I was a participant at the Academy nearly 20 years ago and my positive experience there helped set me up to become a professional musician in Europe. You are depriving future generations of Calgarians of opportunities like I have been lucky enough to receive as a result of the Conservatory at MRU. Shame.

These instructors bring a lot of business and attention to MRU! This will do more harm than good!

Because the talent and dedication shown through Jesse Zubot' s musical career (That's also interlated to other musicians musical careers) is formidable and exemplifies an exploratory vein. This is important to discover new avenues of music.

As a graduate and alumni of Mount Royal University, I am appalled at the cuts being proposed to The Conservatory program, which is one of the most outstanding aspects of Mount Royal as a University.

Too great an instructor

I find it hard to believe that Mount Royal would even consider terminating someone like John Kadz, an internationally recognized cello teaching master. Such a consideration shows a shortsightedness that is not recommended to any institution.

I wish I had access to programs like this growing up through high school. Music was a huge passion for myself and other classmates but our administrators did not have the foresight to create a successful music program to help foster that passion. Don't make the mistake of going back on this important investment in your youth!

There is no economic benefit. One is left to ponder the ulterior motives - ideology? personal vendetta? Classic short term thinking.

I am saddened to see the extremely misguided decision to terminate these two positions. The admin is seriously underestimating the weight of this decision. As a former student of John Kadz, I know exactly the incredible influence he has had on the community in Calgary, Canada and more. Emma Quackenbush, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra

The National Arts Centre has found the Mount Royal Conservatory to be one of the best sources for developing young Canadian musicians. The idea that the program is being dismantled is unthinkable.

Our two daughters went through the MR Conservatory and learned discipline and respect at a very high level. John Kadz and Bill van Der Sloot are a critical part of this. What are you thinking? Seriously - what are you thinking?

I have many friends who attend this conservatory. They are all wonderful musicians and I hope that they can keep studying music. Also, I was a part of the Morningside Music Bridge so I am also affiliated with RCM.

It does any society good to covet and then protect its arts institutions.
