There has always been a pub here, before the Claregate housing estate was even thought of. I'm the third generation of my family to use it, it's too good a place to lose.

This is a land mark pup. My grandparents used it when they came to live here from Ireland. I grew up going to the old field house and playing in the children's room. Then I worked there for years in the bar the games room and the lounge. Now I enjoy going there for lunch with family. It would be a enormous same to knock this pub down to make way forore houses.

As a former barmaid at the Claregate, I think it would be such a shame for a pub with lots of local history to be torn down for housing. Please reconsider.

It would be a terrible shame if the claregate was knocked down for houses! If it was updated and did great food it would be a goldmine!! Nothing like it in the area!! This area is full of families with children who would eat there regularly!! I would!! Bank'ss take off your blinkers and take a look at the potential!!!!!

there are other places to build houses! Don't destroy a perfectly fine building that has so many memories for people and should continue to make memories for people of the future.

This pub could be a real asset to the community if it had a bit of money spent on it. Divide it back into separate rooms, put some entertainment on each weekend and serve a limited menu of locally- sourced, good food instead of generic/bad pub food. When the Claregate is empty, The Pilot and Hail to the Ale are full...there are plenty of customers for the right pub.

This pub is a vital part of the Claregate area and should not be allowed to be lost to housing development.

part of my childhood going for a drink with my family and friends would be a shame to hear that it had been demolished for development.

Please don't let this be another victim of greed. There's plenty of waste land and old buildings around that could be redeveloped instead of a pub that is STILL IN USE!!! Community is hard enough to find these days. If this carries on much longer, we'll all just be stuck inside our own little coccoons - they wonder why communities die!! Marston's should be ashamed.....

Isn't there enough housing . The Claregate is part of the local community and always has been. Refurbish it, do not demolish it.
