There is no replacement for a physician. Sick of hospitals paying their admin enormous salaries while screwing over real doctors. They are also screwing over patients by passing off midlevels as equal care when in reality they'll charge us for substandard care. Shame!

As a referring physician, I choose children’s for the high level care. This decision is terrifying to me. What next? NPs and PAs running the floor? All in the name of the almighty dollar? Shame on you.

This makes no sense....firing the most experienced physicians on the team? Do not allow this to happen and put patients’ lives at risk.

While I do not know all the circumstances involved I have been informed that you are advertising to new grads which obviously are much cheaper. The big business side of medicine has become sickening and so disheartening. Value should be placed on experience and expertise. Please think of your family and loved ones and who you would want to care for them in their time of need. Medicine can’t be practiced based on algorithms alone. Please do the right thing before it is too late.

Please value physicians and the care they provide. Otherwise, this could be your child or family member without a physician caring for them.

This is not ok. Please choose your staff carefully. The physicians there are your most valuable asset.

I am a pediatric and adolescent gynecologist in Kansas City. I do not support the decision by CMH to fire well qualified and experienced MD and DOs to save a buck. These physicians are not replaceable with new grads and mid level providers. I will look to refer my patients elsewhere if this occurs. Please reconsider!

The idea to replace experienced PICU and anesthesia docs with new grads, just to save money on salaries, is a boneheaded mistake that could easily cause many children to lose their lives instead of having successful surgical outcomes.

Rob Steele has researched outcomes. In fact, he published an article about value in healthcare. He praised the equation of the “Triple Aim.” Value=Outcomes/Cost So basically, he does not care if outcomes suffer. He is ok with your children, and the children of KC, having worse outcomes as long as costs decrease more. If that happens, his magical formula is happy despite kids being sicker and having worse outcomes. Disgusting

Everyone deserves physician care! Especially the sickest children

How can a hospital pretend to value quality care when they are trying to replace seasoned physicians with recent graduates and mid-levels to save money?

This is disgraceful. Please think about the health of the children in your care.

As a Kansas City native and pediatrician, this is abhorrent.
