I do not agree with the new grading system. I have a daughter in 10th grade and an 8th grader. I don't think its right that the 8th grader will have a lower gpa with the exact same grades.

This new grading system is nothing but a detriment to a student's grade point average and should be replaced by that used in the upper grades.

Please remove the new grading system and go back to the system used for 10th - 12th graders.

We don't want this for our children.
Colleges look at these grades and some make their decision based solely on GPA.
HOW dare board of ed implement this without consulting us whom they work for.

our students work hard on their grades in order to ensure a successful future. by doing this you are taking away their motivation. no matter how hard they work for that A by getting an A- lowers their GPA. how is that fair when the rest of the country is at an advantage?

RESTORE OUR GPA SYSTEM! this is unfair to our Wayne students. Competition is tough enough to get into the college of their choice. why give them the disadvantage from the rest of the country??

why would we want to make it any more difficult for our children to get into college?? they work very hard on their grades not for the system to bring them down! if this is going on then it has to go on with the rest of the country! RESTORE OUR GPA SYSTEM TO THE OLD WAY!

Only State Mandate across the board would justify this. I am very oppose to this voluntary change which would be unfair to our children. We are our children's advocates.

I agree that the new system will be a detriment to future graduating classes.

I cant beleive any group with the welfare of our Wayne children in mind would would even consider doing this without a State Mandate or more uniform across the board deployment of change. All this and without the consideration of the future of our students and hinderence of ability to get a good education after middle school and and highschool. This shows just how wrong elected officals can be when they have to make important decisions about our childrens future. What were you thinking? I would love to see the case presented for this action as well as how many other towns are doing the same thing. Why dont we place a 50lb weight in each of their backpacks and see if they can make it to school or class in the same amount ot time too. Wake up Wayne BoE !!!! Only one not affected would be a 4.0 student. Wonder if AP honors would be treated the same way. Obvioulsy not thought out well.

This is a ridiculous idea and I think the grading system should remain the same as it's been for decades!
