Save our Breastfeeding Support Groups from budget cuts

The belah group was invaluable when I had both of my children. I definitely would not have beast fed for as long without the wonderful support but it was also the only group I attended regularly and where I was able to ask questions about all aspects of having a baby. This group is so important and Wendy is a wonderful, caring person who welcomes all and listens and guides without judging. Please don't loose this valuable resource.

Breastfeeding is sooo very important to children's health both as babies and young people. So many people don't understand this. New mothers need all the help and support they can get

After you have a baby it is so daunting ESP during breast feeding as you have so many questions and issues! This group is amazing for women to go to and feel supported by other mums and professionals. Maybe instead of cutting it there should just be a mums support group? X

it's a disgrace that the breastfeeding groups could be axed. I feel sorry for any new mums that are planning on breastfeeding as there will be no support network for them.

I went to the Belah group for 11 months and found it invaluable. It's a disgrace that the ending of these groups is even being considered, especially when we are always being told how important breastfeeding is.

I can't even comprehend that after all the studies on breastfeeding benefits for both baby and mum that funding would be axed. Someone needs to speak up for families in this area. So many cuts clearly made by London politicians with no regard to babies and children who don't have a vote.

I went to the Belah group from when my daughter was 2 weeks old and I'm still breastfeeding at 16.5 months. I couldn't have done it without help from the breastfeeding support group which is an essential support for breastfeeding mums, especially in the early days when breastfeeding can be a very difficult and isolating experience. The government want babies to be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of their lives; support groups like these are absolutely necessary and should not be got rid of due to cutbacks.
