Too many bears are being put to sleep, because people refuse to follow the law! If we start enforcing the law of staying away from bears then more bears will be saved!

Bears and other wild animals can and have been killed eating food people have thrown out along roads etc anyone caught throwing out food along roads should pay hefty fines these bears and wild animals need to be protected.

There are some crazy people messing with these bears. Seriously I have seen them in Cades Cove in the fields with momma bear right beside them Ms they go out there. What are you gonna do to the momma bear because a dumb human went up to her baby decides to eat that stupid human. Then you’ll put it to sleep. Now the bears have no momma.

Live in Townsend but have seen an increase of bear close encounters in Gatlinburg on social media. I love hiking and camping in the backcountry and campsites are being closed due to aggressive bear behaviors from others not following backcountry and leave no trace protocols. It’s time to take a more direct approach as warnings are not working.

Stop this ridiculous insanity. Officials have let this go way too far by not enforcing & PUNISHING offenders many years ago. It isnt that difficult to find them because their stupidity is on social media daily.
ENOUGH!

Now TWRA is ripping mother bears with cubs out of Cades Cove. This is the worst animal abuse I have ever witnessed and MUST stop.

Killing never solves anything. Shooting the bear who tapped a mom and child (didn’t hurt them, was just begging for food), makes no difference in human safety because the food attractants are there. The bear could have been brought to a rescue. There was a coyote in Toronto named Urban 23, who was food conditioned, brought to a rescue, then released when he became wild. Bear With Us Bear Sanctuary in Ontario could have taken the Annakeeta bear in.

Please save these babies and stop euthanizing them! Hold the tourists and locals accountable. You all have laws, enforce them and get the proper receptacles in Gatlinburg

I find it appalling the tourons and businesses not complying and that the bears are being euthanized for the misbehavior of humans.

Post signs that the bears will be killed if they are seen interacting with humans even if it's just curious garbage digs. Maybe knowing they will be responsible for killing the cute animal they want that picture with will help since nothing else is working.

Please, do your part in enforcing a substantial fine for first offenders of feeding bears. For repeat offenders, they should pay a much larger fine with 48 hours in jail. Something has to be done to protect the bears of the Smoky Mountains and posting basic Do Not Feed the Bears signs is not the answer.
