I've lived here all of my 50 plus years and have worked in Cornwallis since 1989. Closing this facility will deeply impact the area in many ways.
I've work at the elementary school (CRMS) for 21 years, and I know for a fact that the businesses in the building are a huge asset and will negatively impact the community and surrounding areas.
My family accesses the grocery store on a regular basis, and several friends and family members use the YMCA for various reasons.
Please consider seeking grants and/or establish an alternative plan of some kind so that we, as a community, can continue to thrive and grow in the future.

The community including the surrounding towns, should have been made aware of the possibility of closure long before this. If waiting to announce a closure date within a month's time, was a deliberate attempt on the part of all involved, to avoid feedback or involvement from the stakeholders, then it is an irresponsible, negligent and accountable act on the part of all those involved.

This facility is a vital part of our area. The store and other businesses greatly add to the value of the Cornwallis community, and have influence many people to settle there. The benefits of the YMCA is felt by both the young and old. They are not just a pool, they offer programs and utilities for all ages and reach much farther than just the local area. People from at least 2 counties frequently visit the YMCA. Please save our building.

The shops and services are a huge benefit to people living in Cornwallis Park. The YMCA helps residents of the area to remain healthy and happy. The pool is a great asset for youth and adults for fun and fitness.

A vital resource to our community, I think if this building isn’t salvageable, there should be a plan to keep it operating in the meantime and a new facility should be proposed like what Yarmouth has done.

A huge loss for many of us. just because some don't go to the YMCA or even buy groceries here, its a huge loss for many. Health is supposed to be front and center these days. Well, what happened to that idea. Shakes my head!!!

The Y as well as other services in the building are a vital part fo the immediate community and the area as a whole. The value provided is different for a broad cross section of our community. Whether you need to be physically (and mentally) fit or you need groceries, this facility is important to us all.

Since moving to the area we have used the Basinview for the YMCA After School Program, shop weekly at Value Foods, enjoy takeout from the Pizza place, use their public washrooms while walking in the area. Have also used the YMCA pool, workout and their evening Yourh Programs. I have picked up/dropped off people using Kings Transit.
Before Covid it was nothing to walk in the doors to see seniors set up playing games or simply visiting.
I certain understand the amount if damage and how much it will cost but I don't understand the negligence of letting the damage get to this point. Loosing an extreme amount of water due to the pool and realizing there was no way to repair it, then the pool should have been shut down. It never should have been left to the point that is causing such concerns today.

Keep the up stairs businesses and let the YMCA go. It will get rebuilt else where anyway!!!!!

Can’t believe that the grocery and salon end of the building is in that much jeopardy after all those years of being stable? So if the Y end of the building was built on afterwards , perhaps that end of the building needs to go and save the rest ? So many businesses ESPECIALLY the Grocery store !!people may have limitations as to not being able to travel to get their groceries or even hair cut . As quick as the end of the building was taken down for the Y , I would think that wall could go back up? Feel sorry for all the people this effects .
