My son has used this in the past for tot swim with his early interventionist. It would be a sad thing to see gone!!! My boyfriend has also used it to help him with some physical exercise after having a car accident causing him to have a traumatic brain injury(tbi).

I was excited to move to Cornwallis park thinking groceries ,mail ,and YMCA was right there

The town needs this building the store people have low incomes where are they gonna go shopping if they have no car ? Cornwallis would have nothing . There is nothing for kids in the area anymore either with the ymca gone this is just sad

Two to three weeks ago, Basinview Centre was advertised in the CH for sale. Is it still for sale? What about entrepreneurs who could form a consortium to buy it and open an upscale Italian restaurant and maybe a beer/wine making store. It seems there is a huge market for upscale dining in this region...and there's the beach 100 metres away. Imagine a centre that served both basic (food, postal, transport, health--gym, pool, massage) and higher on the scale (dining out, scenic dinners overlooking the basin, wine and beer) needs and wants. If government was on board to help with the repairs, "green" the building with solar that would pay for heating it (and maybe even sell back to the grid). it coudl be a public/private partnership.
