it is isolationist.... before you close these services, what is there to replace it in terms of community, accessibility, broadband etc..... rural areas again penalised and abandoned for profit, sad :(

Rural areas need their banks as much as the towns and cities. Often more so as broadband speeds are useless in rural areas.

I have banked here for over 40 years. Small branches are more approachable for customers than the large less friendly city branches. These are also easier for the older customers who do not use internet banking.

Its all right saying bank on line. What about the people who have no computer or the elderly who know nothing about them?

No bank? Use our post office. What post office? We don't have one anymore and the poor guy who comes for a couple of hours three times a week has enough trouble coping with post let alone becoming a bank too.

The older generation have no means to travel elsewhere as the bus services were dramatically reduced.
I have noticed that they all like to see a friendly face and a chat , most don't have internet , so rely on this bank !

Chagford Lloyds Bank is one of the iconic features of the important tourist industry. This and similar services are fundamentare removedal in holding this town community together and, once shops and services are removed the heart will go out of the town and there will no longer be any reason for people to choose to live here. This bank branch is well used and there is hardly a time when people are not at the counter when I go in to do business.

Closing banks is a death knell for local business. Please think of the social value act which is in law and which banks, part owned by tax payer, should also be subject to.

My 77 yr mum (banking with Lloyds for well over 25 years) doesn't drive nor does she has a computer or access to on-line facilities. How is she supposed to access banking services without a physical bank or post office?
